Theater Gallery OCTOBER Art Reception and Show

The Theater Gallery welcomes new local photographer  STONEY  MEAGHER as our guest artist throughout October. His creative photographs offer something unique to delight gallery viewers. Also on exhibit are works by resident artists Rosalynd Bliss, D. Ellen Day, Luisa Leger, Paul Spoto, and Janet Todd. The art show/sale runs from October 4 to October 28. Join us for the Artist Reception at the gallery on Thursday, October 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The event is free, offering complimentary refreshments. Always admission-free and located at 756 Plumas Street in downtown Yuba City, The Theater Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12:00 to 5:00 pm during the exhibit.

Local artist STONEY  MEAGHER moved to Marysville in June from Milpitas, California. After having spent many years working in the technology industry, now he prefers a more relaxed tempo of life with considerably less stress. Intrigued by cameras all his life, Stoney has done wedding, portrait, and real estate photography, as well as shooting images of nature and sporting events. He is multi-talented, having just finished portraiture of local veterans for Yuba Sutter Arts. Stoney especially enjoys “creative photography,” making distinctive images and transforming them into art. His goal is to create something unique that not everybody has. Be sure to indulge in this eclectic show and awaken your senses!

The Theater Gallery is open every week, Wednesday through Saturday, from noon to 5:00 p.m. Come in and enter the drawing to win a jewelry piece each month. An Artist Reception is held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on the first Thursday of every month, complete with complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds from The Theater Gallery benefit the Sutter Performing Arts Association’s effort to renovate the Sutter Theater, turning it into a viable community center.  For more information, please visit our website at:  www.suttertheater.org or follow The Theater Gallery on Facebook.

Talk Radio

Pulitzer Prize nominated Talk Radio is a funny, outrageous and totally entrancing journey through modern radio. Barry Champlain, a controversial local late-night radio host is on the air offering his brutally honest opinions to his off-beat audience of insomniacs and lost souls who call in to sound off. Tomorrow, Barry’s show is going into national syndication. His producer is afraid Barry will say something that will offend the sponsors, which makes Barry even more outrageous. However, on this night, Barry’s normally bulletproof worldview is challenged, providing a glimpse behind the hard shell of his outward persona. Talk Radio is rated PG-13 (adult language).

Play Dates:
October 6-7,12-14,20-21 at 8 pm
October 15 & 22 at 2 pm

It's Not Easy Being Green - A Witch's Tale

Milo and Luna were an inseparable pair - there was just one problem: Luna was a witch and Milo, well - wasn't. Best friends at a young age, until a misunderstanding drove their families apart, Luna's dad locked her away in their creepy mansion to protect her from the humans who fear what they do not understand. Until, one day Luna - along with her pantomiming toad and enchanted troll butler (yes, you read that correctly) hatch a plan to throw an AWESOME Halloween party to prove to everyone that witches aren't that scary after all...unless, of course, her plans go terribley wrong. Come and see this very fun and genuinely heartfelt production that aims to show us that our differences are beautiful, and that love and understanding are the most powerful tools in overcoming the fear that divides us...along with a little Halloween magic.
