Description: Reclamation District 10 is the official name for a 40-square-mile land reclamation project established in 1914 in the flood basin of the Feather and Yuba rivers just north of Marysville. The flooded post-harvest rice fields of District 10 provide ideal temporary wetland habitat for thousands of Tundra Swans, huge flocks of White-faced Ibis, abundant geese and ducks of many species, various shorebirds, lots of hawks, and even bald eagles. Join expert birders and biologists from the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife (formerly CA Dept. of Fish and Game), as they lead you on a carpool/caravan tour along the back roads in District 10 to see the birds and learn about the compatibility of rice growing and waterfowl conservation!
